Over Your Competition
Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy

If you have a business on the Internet you should be bartering
goods and services with other businesses. You should always
try to trade for something before you buy it. Barter deals
usually require no money. Although sometimes you may need
money to offset the value of the goods or services being traded.

Bartering will give you many advantages over your competition.
It can save your business money. You can spend the extra
money on a buying paid Internet advertising. It allows you to
offer your products and services at a lower price than your
competition. You can afford to get the higher priced goods and
services to compete on the internet.

There are numerous ways to find barter deals online. Set up a
barter message board or chat room on your web site to get
more barter offers. Note on your web site or e-zine you are
willing to barter for goods and services. Join newsgroups or
e-mail discussion groups that are about bartering. Join an
online barter club to meet other businesses that barter. Find
web sites that barter by looking up the keywords barter, trade,
or swap in your search engine of choice.

There are a few things you should do before bartering. Compile
a list of your goods and services you are willing to barter.
Make a list of goods and services you need or want for your
online business. Know the approximate cash value of the
things you are trying to trade and the value of the things you
are seeking in return. All of this information can help you
negotiate a successful barter deal.

When proposing a barter offer, tell the person the benefits of
the barter deal. Explain to them why it would be a win/win
situation. Give their business many compliments in your
proposal. Prove to them why it would be a fair trade. This
type of proposal can increase your chances off them saying
“Yes, I will barter.

How To Increase Your Online Sales Anytime
Copyright © Stone Evans, The Home Biz Guy

Hold a discount sale on your web site. Use the sale to get
rid of excess inventory, gain new or repeat customers, and
increase your sales. Most businesses pick a theme for their
sale, like a Halloween Sale. Below are six unique sales
themes you could use:

Nobody’s Visiting Today Sale

Every online business has low visitor and sales day through
the week. My days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. You
could sell your products or services for cheaper to increase
and sales on your slow days. You could have this advertised
right on your web site.

Time Of The Day Sale

Periodically , pick out a time of the day like 5 to 7 pm to
lower your prices. With online sales you need tell people
the time zone. Announce your scheduled times ahead of
time in your e-zine. This will give people enough time to
plan when they will visit your web site.

Product Or Service Of The Day Sale

Each day offer different product or service at a lower price.
This will draw people back to your web site everyday. This
is a high traffic generating sale. If you don’t have a lot of
products and services you may want to run the sale weekly
or monthly.

Niche Group Sale

Hold a sale for a niche groups of people. Students, senior
citizens, single people etc. This really works if your
introducing a new product or service for the first time to a
new target audience. Announce your sale in a targeted
e-zine, e-mail discussion groups, message boards, etc.

Holiday Or Seasonal Sale

Offer lower prices on holidays and during seasonal changes.
These type of sales let your visitors and customers know
your no scrooge. Be creative and go as far as decorating
your web site. You could upload holiday and seasonal
graphics. Change the color of your text to match. Get in the
spirit!

Get More For Your Money Sale

Give customers more products or services for their money.
People relate these kind of sales to getting a bargain or
saving money. You could offer a buy one get one for half
off sale, a buy two get the third one free, two for the price
of one sale, etc.

Starting a Home Business on a Budget
Copyright © 2005 Suzanne Morrison

Have you ever dreamed of starting your own business? Have you wondered what it would be like to get up every morning and be in control of your financial destiny without having to depend on a job? Perhaps you enjoy your job and you simply want to start a part-time business from home to supplement your income but the problem is you have very little extra money to invest in a new venture.

If this is your dream then now is the time. Never before in history has there been a better time to start a home business and this is especially true for those on a limited budget. Why is this so? The answer is simple. The World Wide Web. The Internet has enabled hundreds of thousands of people to start home businesses working from home with very little start up cash. It is now possible for individuals working from home in their pajamas to start businesses and compete in the global marketplace on the same playing field as large corporations. Anyone with a service or something to sell can build a website and using the available and often free tools on the Internet be in business almost instantly.

Setting up an Internet home business usually has much lower start up costs than the traditional brick and mortar alternative. With a traditional business there are significant overhead expenses which are usually due even before you can start making money. These expenses include: rent for office or store space, inventory to stock your store if you are planning to sell retail products, advertising, liability insurance, and the list goes on. In fact it can costs thousands.

Starting an internet business has much lower start up costs because your store is in cyberspace and your office is in your home. You can find numerous low costs options for building websites online as well as suppliers who will ship your products to your customers as they are purchased instead of storing huge amounts of products which is expensive and takes up storage space.

One of the best ways to get started on a low budget is by selling products on eBay. Millions of people are shopping on eBay every single day looking for just about every kind of product you can imagine. One of the reasons eBay is such a great place to start a home business on a budget is because the traffic is already there. Ebay has already done the advertising and all you need to do is show up and post your products. If you were to build your own website you would need to market your site and buyers would need to find it before they could buy from you. Secondly, eBay has taken the expense and difficulty out of building an Internet store. For a low monthly fee you can build an Internet store on eBay complete with your own logo and a shopping cart system. This is actually very similar to setting up shop in a mall in the brick and mortar world.

Another low cost way to make money on the Internet is through affiliate programs. Affiliate programs allow you to make money by placing links on your site to other websites and each time someone clicks through to the website you are an affiliate for you make money. If you have a website this is one of the easiest ways to add revenue to your current income. Many Internet retailers have affiliate programs.

There are many other opportunities on the Internet for starting your own home business. It is recommended that you take some time to research the various options but be careful of scams. If you do an Internet search on topics such as “home business” or “work at home” you will likely find a lot of good information but you will also find many scams out there who promise riches only want to take your money and leave you with nothing to show for it. The best tip for avoiding scams on the Internet is the old saying, “If it sounds too good to be true – it probably is.”

Whatever type of business you decide to start on the Internet it is important that you treat your business like a business. Above all, find something that interests you and that you will be passionate about and you can be successful beyond your wildest dreams.

So you want to start a business? Good for you. Really, I mean that sincerely. I think about the millions of people that let the thought pass briefly through their minds on he way to work everyday.

The vas majority of people merely toy with the idea at points in their lives when they hate their bosses or their pay or their lack of vacation time. You, on the other hand, are investigating what it takes o start a business. At least you are going to find the answers here and stop wasting time wondering “what if.”

It is very easy to start a business if you do it on the internet. You have little overhead involved, no rent, not even products to stock (if you sell electronic goods)!

What’s more, there are literally thousands of people marketing other peoples’ products as “affiliates.” You can literally start a business using other peoples’ stock, property, know-how, services, and goods.

I know people who are making astounding amounts of money monthly just selling products that don’t even belong to them. I would tell you figures, but you’d never in a million years believe me.

How creative can you be? Well, here’s a little story of a guy who started a business online in one of the most unusual ways I have heard of in a long time.

You remember the deck of cards that the U.S. government created with the top 50 most wanted terrorists? Saddam Hussein was the Ace of Spades, if you recall.

Someone I know of got a hold of a distributor for those cards, and asked if they would take orders from him and ship orders to his customers. He then set up a website, joined Google’s Adwords program where you pay-per-click on your ad, and made $12,000.00 in ONE WEEK selling decks of cards with terrorists on them as souvenirs!

You think you can’t start a business on the internet? Think again! If a guy can make $12,000 a week selling souvenirs, you can certainly find products to sell or even create your own.

Most people start making money online as affiliates. This way you sell other peoples’ products and you get a commission for referring sales to them. All you need for this is some great products to affiliate with, a website, a host for your site, and you have everything you need!

Take my site for instance. I sell other peoples’ products and services and I love it. If you start a business like mine, there is no need to stock any products, get a merchant account, or deal with customer service. The product owners take care of all that.

Never in the history of mankind has it been easier or cheaper to start a business. If you want it, go for it!
